Game Brainstorm

My first game idea is for some kind of turn based fighting game, think pokemon or final fantasy, with a dungeon crawl element where i will create a maze and have enemies spawn randomly to attack the player, the fighting would take place in a rock paper scissors style where players would pick one of those and then if they win they defeat or possible do a certain amount of damage to the enemy, and the enemy can defend on the players turn by beating the players sign, player - rock  & enemy - scissors = enemy defeated or player - rock & enemy - paper = enemy defends and then the roles are reversed so that the enemy can attack the player, this would obviously mean the player would also need a health bar. I would possibly implement a system where if a player keeps picking the same sign repeatedly its damage output would be lowered and then in reverse if the player were to keep only picking rock and scissors then paper would possibly get a damage boost. I would like to try and make a self generating maze which would allow for more of an endless game and a scoreboard could be implemented. i would try to create different enemy types some which could be knocked out quite quickly and some that would be more like "boss" enemies. This would mean i would need to create a way to make different enemies appear more frequently and infrequently compared to others to make the game fair. I would also find it interesting to create an in game reward system or level up system, where stronger enemies may appear as you progress and a way of upgrading the player character to change the games strategy elements and give it more of an adventure game feel.

"so you want to make an rpg game"

My second idea for a game is a 3d platformer where a player must make it to a goal by jumping over and dodging obstacles, similar to mario and sonic games. if possible i would like to add in a puzzle element to the game to make it a mix of skill and and logic , i would make a level system where a player must finish a level to reach the next one but to keep it from being too easy i would like to add an element of randomness to the levels where certain parts could shift and change each time so that players cannot learn off a layout to easily beat a level. i would also have the camera behind the player in a 3rd person view because i think it would reduce the view that players would have as i think a first person view would make this kind of challenge too easy. and would be too similar to a game like mirrors edge. I would like to add boosts and power ups to do things like increase a players speed and jump height or distance, i would also like to add a way too negatively effect players too, where for choosing a wrong path they would have their speed reduced. i would most likely make it so that a player must restart a level if they were to fall from a platform or not complete a level for any lose condition, I would also add a time limit to each level just to add another layer of challenge. if possible i would create multiple characters for players to choose from where each character would have a different jump height or speed. i think this would add replay-ability value to my game and some characters being added could allow for a story in the game.

My third idea is an on the rails 1st person shooter game where i would make a series of levels with multiple moving targets. i would make an incredibly large number of targets to make it near impossible to hit each one in a game so it would be a test of aiming skills, i would also have to work on a mechanic for the projectiles dropping over distance to simulate a more realistic shooter. I would create a score keeping system to add replay value to the game so players could attempt getting high scores. i would add a mix of still and moving targets but i would not use any random number generation in the levels so that extremely skilled players could learn off level layouts and try to achieve a perfect score. i would like to add multiple types of projectile shooters to add different difficulties, so in some cases projectiles may be smaller but worth more points for hitting a target and larger projectiles would be worth less points per hit. In a similar way i would like to have small and big targets with different score values. i think these kinds of ideas make the game playable in many different ways and it could be enjoyed by people with different skill levels while also possibly having quite a high skill ceiling. I think a power-up system could also work in this game to increase things like firing speed temporarily or shooting multiple projectiles at once. I think creating something like this would be a great entry level game for young children who are learning how to use WASD or mouse and keyboard controls as it has a very simple concept and would be quite easy to pick up. I think it would be an ideal game to work on dlc and adding extra levels and similar things to give it a long game lifespan.

My final idea is for a boardgame style of game, the game is played on an 11x11 grid kind of board, both players start with 5 pieces on the closest row of the board to them, while both players are facing each other, with the 5 pieces being centered in the row leaving three spaces to the right and left of the pieces, each player takes it in turns to roll a dice, the number a player rolls allows them to move one of their pieces the specified number of spaces but a player can only move 1 piece per turn and only in a single direction being forward, backward, left, right and the 4 diagonals. If a player can move their piece onto the other players piece it is removed from the game. If a player loses all of their pieces they lose the game. At the beginning of the game players are assigned a colour red or blue, when a red piece moves all the spaces it moves onto become red tiles and the opposite is true in the case of blue. The other way to win a game is by taking control of 61 of the 121 board spaces. Each player starts the game with 5 spaces of their colour where their pieces begin. The game could also be played with 4 players using a similar rule set but with 1 player facing directly onto another and 1 other player on their left and right sides, these would be designated the colours green and yellow as these are the 4 typical colours used for most boardgames. In a 4 person game the aim to win would be to take 31 spaces on the board or otherwise have all other players pieces knocked out and be the last player with a piece/ pieces left on the board.
