Game Design Document

Dundoc was a new software to me so it took some getting used to, I felt that there were some headings to write into that were not applicable to the project but i attempted to write something into all of them.

I used miro to create a flow chart also to add to one of the headings.

I have written my GDD with the expectations of what i think i can do and will make changes when necessary. The GDD is very similar to my document from week 5

My GDD will need to be updated with concept art and WIP screenshots when i begin development as part of the continuous updates to it.

  1. Hi Conor, How are you? Just finished reading your Game Design Document and wanted to give you some feedback on your overall game. I like the idea and I thing it could be very fun to play. The thing that's great about your game, is that you could make the level very long and it wouldn't require that much extra effort.
Have you thought about an environment this game will take place? Will your character be chased by someone? I feel like you could put your game in any type of environment and it would work.
One suggestion would be is to have exciting fast paced music in the background when playing, to really liven up the game play. Good luck with your game.

  3. Hi Conor, how are you doing? I have just completed reading your Game Design Document. I must say it is very well written and you have covered so much information it was really easy for me to visualize this game so well done for that! I like the game idea, it is simple and effective. I know you would want constructive criticism from others to help you move forward with your game so I am going to recommend something for you to include. I think it would be a good addition to your game if you included some sort of reward system for the players. Maybe some badges, medals or trophies. I think this would only improve your game and how much people enjoy it! A reward system might be another reason why a person would return to play your game. People are competitive and I know if it was me and I was close to achieving a new badge or trophy I'd be determined to stay playing until I done so. I hope this feedback helps you. All the best with your game, really looking forward to playing it!

  4. Hi Conor just finished reading your games design document there and it is great you seem to have a lot of information prepared as it shows by there document. Just wondering would your game have any background music as I think this would add a bit competitiveness into the game as it'll entice and liven up the game. Your game is very clever I haven't seen anything similar to it from the CDM Year group as of yet!
Best of luck this semester and hope your game goes well for you. I am looking forward to seeing and possibly playing it.
