User Interface Week 17 Reading 05

This weeks task seems very straight forward to begin with having to just go over my own annotative bibliographies and pick out the main points for which i will be writing on for the main project. I began by going over all my readings and highlighting the different sections in each so i can link different themes and ideas to one another, the first notable theme i have found is use of shape and colour, generally used to interact with players emotions by a dev (orange). The second notable theme is personalisation and choice through the UIs inputs (blue). The third theme i have found is making UI feel natural through the players interaction with it, e.g. hand gestures  (yellow).  The fourth theme i have found is UI usability and functionality (magenta) and the final theme i have found is the UIs affect on gameplay (red). The themes all seem to overlap at different intersections as they are all design considerations for a games UI. These reading tasks have made me realise how much of an important role UI plays in a game as virtually no game can function without it and all computer programs need functional UI also, it is just very clear that games are not necessarily function before form but both must go hand in hand to enhance player experience.
